Description

Queen Borg - Ver 1 I wanted to create a Queen Borg (STNG series/movies) like scene where a disembodied head is "plugged" into a techno-organic wall or alcove. This model was sort of a practice piece to see how far I could push the sub-division modelling to create the scene with only one or two continous meshes. I hadn't pre-planned any of the detailing, so as you can see some glaring mistakes resulted from working with only half the mesh and not checking how the mirrored halves joined together. Anyways, I thought the result was interesting enough to post. I am going to rework the model from the beginning in a more planned manner to see if I can get a more organic, Gigerish look to it.

I love the idea and your implementation here is fantastic. Wonderful imagination .. a wonderful model. I think it is cool as it is (no need for re-modelling it), and I would love to se it textured :-) Excellent work. (PS. Thanks for your detaled explanation on the creation process).

Very nice. For a more "Giger-ish" look, turn down the lighting. . .if you look at his work, there are always deep shadows and narrow, slimy, highlights. Also, make it less symmetrical. Hoses, blood vessels, things like that don't feed in a perfectly regular fashion-- regularity is a characteristic of machines, not organics
