This was a great exploration into fur painting. I've painted fur before (see "Winter") but nothing like this. My dad pointed out that the shape of the skin was quite off. Ahh well, maybe next time.
Any suggestions on how I can improve are as welcome as "praising comments." Not only do I not get offended by them, I consider them to be just as positive.
Thanks for looking!

I agree that the image is beautiful and very well done. As for the fur, I do think it came out wonderful, the top of it looks very real. My only opinion would be around the edges of the fur, I've seen these animal rugs and I think around the edges the fur pull shouldn't be out so far and should be a little thicker in density. Still you've suceeded in presenting a great image to the galleries! Excellent job!

Thank you all sooooooo much! :) I didn't expect this picture to do as well as it did, I was just having fun(as with ALL my images). DrmzRmyne: You're right. I noticed a while after finishing this that the edges look too shaggy for this type of skin. The fur on the rest of it is fairly course, so it doesn't quite match. I guess I got a little carried away. I blame it on the wacom, it possessed my hand, and I couldn't control the strokes! Ok, so I should've used a reference when painting it. :) Thanks again!

Other than Mel has noticed the fur looks fine:) I'd also suggest to make the shadows on the wall a little more defined - I guess the fur (as well as her left leg) are not so far from it. Other than that it's a GREAT piece of work and it shows how much effort you put in it. You have a great potential. Bravo! Keep them coming:))

Beyond just saying how beautiful it is...I'd like to say how dangerous it looks to be sitting under a spiked gate!I mean,if someone shuts it you'll either get impaled or locked out for what looks like a very long fall...very lovely image, guess she just got caught in a moment lol!
