Description
work in progress of a pretty large scene i'm working on (the starport is about 80km in diameter) ship is 3km long, (and not just because it's in mojoworld, they were modelled to that scale : ) I've still got the rest of the city to put in yet and a lot of tweaking to do on the planet.. (and make my own sun instead of stealing/borrowing the one from copperwine : )....... the amazing starport model is by moebius 87..... a quick question tho for anybody that can help...... the domes on the roofs have reflection values on them which render superbly without shadows on..... but as soon as i do a render with shadow,,,,the reflections dissapear.... i've tried various lighting positions (just in case it was reflecting a shadow or something but nothing seems to work) any help would be great.... (i need the shadows on to make the port appear to be sitting on the ground and not floating somewhere in space (i suppose i could composite a non shadow render with a shadow one but that goes against my philosophy of no post work........

Sweet render even with the shadow issue. Try Calyxa at MJW, she'll be the best resource I can think of off the top of my head--unless Doc wants a shot at it...

Oooo... I have no idea what the problem is with the shadow, but I would respectfully like to lodge my regular render complaint why does everything render so much better on your end? :oP Come on, don't stop now... let's get that city going. :o)

Sweet chem! I cant wait to see the finished product...I can feel a new desktop coming on....

Well...You could just add a reflection map to the domes so you can render your shadows,Or turn up the spectacular settings a little and maybe add the reflection map to the Bump map if Mojoworld will let you ad multiple Layers for your textures...Excellent render I am in the process of Modeling some Trees and Forests for Mojoworld not too mention some Stumps and trunks...Keep up the excellent work it is great to see someone taking this path with Mojo....

Excellent models.. I have an idea on the shadows, but since I'm not sure...The lighting looks pretty natural to me.. In the 2.0 manual there is a section on shadow bias..That might help.. I would drop Calyxa a line..and Doc too while your at it..
Doc Mojo
Nice work, ChemicalBrother!!! Let's see some more! As for the shadows issue, Caly's the one to talk to. :-)

not exactly what i';m looking for foleypro........ altho a reflection map would give a nice appearance it wouldn't be a true reflection of the surroundings (defeats the purpose of using reflection if you ask me) i know that you can get some great results with ref maps but i'm a sucker for realism.... : )
