Description
"When I was in the 1st to the 4th grades,
my family had the distinct pleasure of
living in Japan while my Dad was in the
Air Force. It was a memorable time...
something I have never forgotten the
sites, smells and the amazing people
of Japan. This is my tribute to the
beauty that is Japan.
The sketch was done with Prismacolor
Studio, Prismacolor Verithin and
Col-erace Colored Pencils. The
soft focus, some airbrush spray
and the Photo Frame was accomplished
through PSP8.
Enjoy! and thank you for looking...Cheryl

Your introduction to the culture of Japan is a bright moment in your artistic presentation. This summary delegates much unsaid.

Oh my... this is simply wonderful! This one is easily my favorite out of the series. So soft and gentle it creates a sense of peace just looking at it. Fantastic work, thank you for sharing this with us.

It is brilliantly renderd, I feel the left eye somehow spoils it a little but the work on the hair is very fine and the overall purportians of the drawing seem very good also :)

Although I have never been fortunate enough to visit Japan in person, I have been captivated by a portion of their culture. I was in an import/export business years ago where I corresponded frequently with a few people, and a form of pen-pal arrangement commenced. Whether or not I know anything about Japan, its people or its culture matters not - what does is the form, beauty and presentation of your art, and your marvelous continuation into your new environment of color. After seeing your delightful render of the elderly oriental gentleman in your previous post, I sort of wondered if a female would be far behind. This one is simply gorgeous Cheryl and the bitter-sweet smile on her face is quite timely for today. The colors are absolutely harmonious - keep them coming young lady - I'm truly impressed!
