Description
When I was a teenager, I would
cringe at the words "Time &
Experience"...in large part
because they walked hand-in-hand
with my parents telling me I could
not do something because I had
not yet learned these qualities,
and in fact, I would never really
understand them until I had aged
many years older...but I understand
those words now and I enjoy
very much saying them back to my kids.
I just loved this man's face. He has
so much to say and he does it without
speaking a word.
This sketch was done on Black
Mi-Teintes paper with Prismacolor
Studio, Verithin and Col-erace.
The lighting, soft focus, praying
hands and a little touch-up here
and there were accomplished
through PSP8. I did struggle
somewhat with the black paper
and bringing out the colors...so,
if you have any hints, they would
be greatly appreciated.
Thank you again for sharing this
with me! Have a great day!...Cheryl

Very very beautiful!!! Yes the face tells it all. Super work!!!

Most would see this face as an archetype for wisdom when portrayed in an image. In person some would taunt him seeking immediate entertainment. I think you have chose someone who might have been a laborer or a merchant. His penchant for being hides any suffering in a faint amusement. The bullies have left now.

Your drawing has a luminous quality that makes me think of wisdom long gone from this world... expelled by the forces of greed and self-fulfillment. He makes me think of a time when simple things seemed to take on much more importance. Great job Cheryl, I really like this one and your hard work shows.
