Description

Please forgive me for re-posting this... let's just say it's a small experiment on my part... :) Thanks to everyone who commented on the first posting. This started out as an experiment in the tree lab; then, after creating a tree that I really liked (the one in the mid-ground), I decided to see how many trees I could get into a scene without bogging down my memory-challenged computer (about 50.. give or take a few). By then I had a pretty good landscape scene going on... but it needed some focus to it, so I add the deer. It then became an exercise in texturing the deer to avoid that 'plastic poser import' look.... Rendered in Bryce. The only post-work I did on the image was to use a smeary brush in Painter to "fuzz up" the edges of the buck, and a dodge brush to lighten the areas on the bellies and inside of the legs of the deer. Then, KPT Equalizer for a little softening/sharpening. Thanks for taking a peek....

Great work. I to love that tree in the middle. Well done and I like the title. I gives the scene it's story very well.

lol... which title?... I just noticed that I had the old title on the image. C'est la vie. :)

I think you succeeded on all counts - the tree, the forest, the landscape and the non-plastic deer. Well done!

Wonderful scene here! And I, too, swear by Equalizer. It should have been standard INSIDE the Bryce rendering engine!
