Description

*The light you've lost absorbed by shadows of your mind is takin over the light from your Realm, cos you've ceased to reckon that Hope is there to be your soul balm. In the haze you dwell, in those doubts you've lost the spell... But you can always rely on me, my friend, to reach the sun and smile and shine again.* ------------- Photoshop 6, 7 layers, 40 minutes of work Sources for the piece. Textures (Channel and Weed)provided courtesy of mysnapz -------------- This is my first entry for the June Theme, and IF the links work (I hope!!!), you are gonna from now on see all the sources I have used for my Photoshop works, along some technical detailing that can be useful for the judgement of people, and for their advicing towards me (I still a beginner, I need all help ;)). The piece is dedicated to my friend Eleonora, portraited in the scene. The picture was originally taken by me for jrulier to work over, but sadly I took to much of a lightened and blurred picture for him to be useful, and then.. I decided to go my own way with it, because I liked the stance of her :) Elli, dear.. keep it up and you'll see light back soon. Lotta love, and enjoy you all (even if this, is not exactly a picture that suggests joy ;) )

A lady Hamlet it seems filling a poetic space. Then the beauty of the body edge is seen and completes the view. Was it torture, dance, labor or fine genetics that searched out a counter intuitive passage where the result is elite?

oh my, its june already..sigh,how fast the year goes.~i love the light sources in this meli.they illuminate the negative space nicely and give this an easy to follow flow to the eye, not obtrusive at all.between the light source on the chest area and the window, they move in an upward direction with no obstructions. beautiful.

You expressed that mood in a great way. You're improving a lot with photo-manipulation, my friend, so the results are here: a very interesting composition. :-)

Very 'negative' indeed :) For me in a quite positive way. It has a mood which I am drawn to. Though just hope she is okay, of course. But other than that I like the style and the position she is in. Compared to the real picture it sure is a diverse piece..really shows how something can be transformed into something completely different :) I love it!

that window jumps off the page, amazing composition! unusual to have a blurred foreground and sharp background, but it works.

I must have aliens on the brain, forgive me Meli. This looks like she's going to be abducted. Great lighting on her and the stance does suggest deep thought and troubled contemplation. You are evolving in your art my dear. Hugs :)

Obsessive light... can't sleep. The world of mind through the door.. Thoughts encircling her... Really moody!

Obsession is a persistent idea, or group of ideas, frequently irrational, occuring against our consciuos will, somethimes with a compulsion to render an action concrete. Each thought has multiple viewpoints and innumerable meanings. What kind of obsession are we looking at?

True that you seem to move in other directions. The lady seems to sit outside rather than inside . That makes the doorway more interesting. Very interesting play with light.

Lots of precious insights (btw.. are ebots workin? I don't think so, because I am not receiving notes about your comments.. oh well ;)) that need some of my attention :) @cynlee, I agree with you (and our lovely Cassie, from a message in the forum) that the green seems out of place, but it's explicative of the reason of my friend obsession: that is jalousy and envy someway..) with this I have also answered to intolerance about the kind of obsession she has. I extremely love the smart note of Imaginationart because he captured exactly the way I tried to portray the negative space, twisting in 3D idea of what's in and what's out, to give a sort of different vibe :) Thank you everyoe for your comments.. and for all your help for makin me improve :) Hugs :)

This is one of your best images in my eyes. Her tormented pose, contrasting a somewhat serene and luminant background, suits me just fine. I have lived in many different places and have found that the scenery will never halt the depressing effects of a bad day. It just softens it a little and makes the melancholy more beautiful.

This is such an emotionally packed image, Meli. You took a great photo and you've used it just perfectly to create a very intense mood. Wonderful work. And, as always, just the right words to go with the vision. A really moving piece of art.

Cool work, the green in this makes me think of smoking some weed. You are getting better at Photoshop, and this is quit the moody picture. I can relate even, as sometimes I tend to feel a bit of negative space, usually not though. Seven Layers eh? Good stuff, I need to get Photoshop again ;-). -Peace :-)

She seems to be involved in a struggle of heart & mind...a battle that rarely ends in the kind of outcome that we want or desire. She seems to be at a turning point in her life, trying to decide her future,or fate, that will make her the person she wants to be! Although....I'm just speculating!! Great thought provoking work! :)
