A while back I found a "Earth Lights" map. I made this while playing around with it...

Awesome great effect...listen I just started learning Max3.1 and everytime that I try to make a light like you have here you can never see it And I am useing the tuts but cant figure it out also on some of my spaceship models they have multiple parts I would like to pick parts at random while the model is still grouped how do I do this need to add different textures to the parts any help would be appreciated you can instant message me or e-mail me thanks for your time and once again love the work.

Damn, why did you have to ruin this cool picture with that overdone lens flare? The bump map gives a cool effect at the terminator. Not realistic, since the lights are too bright and they're floating above the clouds. Still cool, though.
