Description

The largest indoor reclining Buddha image resides in Wat Pho in Bangkok, Thailand. Not exactly sure of my data, but from the elbow to the point of its head it is supposed to be 11 meters tall. The soles of this figure's feet are adorned with mother of pearl inlay, representing all the creatures in the universe. I've included a greyscale inset (that comes with a brochure), that shows a Buddhist monk near the figure's ankles for scale. I hope that this gives you a good sense of how big this is. I had a very difficult time trying to figure out what the best settings for shooting in low light were, without a tripod. This is the most decent I could come up with. Thank you very much for viewing.

They don't do anything small over there, do they? Well, this is just a great photo of a great work of art. Wish I'd been there.
