Just for fun, trying the new scanner on a very small part of the print. This is about a 1.5 inch x 1.5 inch section of the 4x6 print. Gettin' pretty grainy...

Ya, the grain is noticeable but so is more detail of this awesome flower. Do the petals open any further than what they have here? :)

still pretty good detail though. I saved this pic and despeckled it and looks great.

This is bloody awesome! Best flower shot I have seen in a while, regardless of the grain.

MzQt, not sure about the petals, but it looks like they open at least some of the time. Can't recall for sure, but I think this was at the Dahlia Garden in Golden Gate Park, SF. Doesn't look like a typical dahlia, but there are so many varieties...

Just lovely:)

Cool petals. Nothing like the beauty of nature. Looks like you got a nice scanner there, replaced the Canon did you? Is that where You have been, out shopping? I was almost getting worried about you. Good to see you back. -Peace :-) (Alien Skin Software has good jpeg correction plugin for graininess with Image Doctor I believe)

When you try, it looks as if only the yellow parts of the petals were petals indeed, the brownish parts being much lower, as some weird leaves or something... Very cool, anyway :)
