This is the latest development of "Tethys," the science skiff of "Endeavour." The skiff is a two-deck independent ship which, while docked to Endeavour, also functions as an integral part of the science department, providing additional lab and observation spaces. On its own, it can support a crew of 10 for an extended period of time, making it ideal for long-term scientific survey and exploration missions. The skiff is a sub-light vessel, only; its dock is located on the underside of the saucer, at the rear, and when docked, the skiff faces the rear of the ship (basically, from its cockpit, you would look into the zero-gee atrium at the front (because of its gravity orientation, actually the 'top') of the engineering section).
