Description
This is a test render for me in which I've added a couple of different techniques.
Notes:
2 particle systems (particleclouds) used for creating very light dust in the atmosphere, they show up more in the animation.
Volumetric lighting: I've added volumetric lighting to a direct light (standard 3dsMax light)
I've used the 'arch-detail' technique to create the grid that locks up the window (AI import)
GI Lighting: I've used Global Illumination with an undersampled setting of -3 and -1 for renderspeed.
Mostly, this was a test for me for lighting I'll be doing more of these to learn more about lighting a scene for mood.

What is it? A bird?

When I find the time, I'll try to submit one to the tutorials section for 3dsMax here. The main trick for this kind of lighting is using volumetrics (see my simple tutorial for volumetrics here) and Brazil's capabalities for use of skylights and indirect illumination.

Alright, thanks. Does Brazil plays an important part in such good lighting? I'm just being curious since I don't have Brazil, and being a beginner and slow at that, Brazil will be useless to be, anyhow...

There are ways to set up this kind of lighting without Brazil. Take a look at the 'window' pictures in my gallery, these had fake GI.
