Taking a look at this image now that its posted, I think it pretty much came out just as imagined it would.
An example of striking simplicity.
... Can you believe this took 18.5 hours to render? Oy!
** Technical Notes **
Premium Render with heavy/full detail volumetric atmosphere. Also present are Depth of feild, True Ambience and Soft Shadows. Total Render time was as mentioned 18 hours and 30 minutes.

Background lighting was created by using the moon and stars as the only essential lighting within a thick volumetric world.
Created and rendered in Bryce 5.0.
Slight colorization work in Adobe Photoshop 7.0

What is really brilliant about this is the fact that we can only see the characters sillhouette. That almost makes me believe that anyone could be the legend... This is beyond cool.. This is hang-it-up-on-my-wall cool! Congradulations Dash. This rocks.
