Well I gotta say... I am really happy with the way this turned out. This image is an open interpretation piece.
The point of it is for you to decide the true meaning of this piece. A few I've tested it out on think it has something to do with pornography.
Others think that it was an homage to the young creative spirit within all of us...
Whatever you decide it means is the right answer. Hence, you the viewer giving the work its true meaning.
It has been a while since I last posted and I've had this image burning in my mind for the longest time.
Its nice to see it visualized and up for everyone to share in.
** Technical Notes **
Question: What do you get when you render an image with full volumetric lighting, Premium Effect AA with every single possible setting turned on?
Answer: A 3 day, 6 hour render time.
Camera model and child model are from 3dmodles.com (I think).
Created and rendered in Bryce 5.0.
Rendered with FULL volumetric/high quality setting on Premium Effect (AA) with Soft Shadows, Blurry Reflection, Blurry Transmission, True Ambience and a very slight Depth of Field effect... ... Last time I do this let me tell you! lol!
Some post work in Adobe Photoshop 7.0
I hope you like it.
Thanks for taking a look and commenting.

Not sure what volumetric lighting is but it sure seems to be a thing now. This is a beautiful piece if art.Does it signify Big Brother is watching?
Claymor
Interesting to me that the camera appears as the "real" thing in the piece while the 'subject' is only a shadowy figure. Seems to be a statement on perception vs. "reality" Cool piece...3 days...sheesh...I wouldn't have been patient enough.

This is gorgeous. Don't know the point, but I am judging it on its technical merits. Great model, excellent textures and superb execution. What can I say, it gets my vote.

Looks great. After one picture that took 5 days, did not want to fuss with long renders anymore.

I know im somewhat late to join the debate (just been reading your great tutorial on DOF and thought I'd check out your gallery), but here goes... seeing the child appears to be head bowed - perhaps in regret - I think the camera is the childs desire: a second chance. Message being: In life you very rarely get a 'second take'. Excellent job by the way - your whole gallery is very impressive!

Great Artwork!!! 5+
