Description
This plant comes in many forms so I used its common name. (Latin isn't my strong suit).
It is also popular in Scottish stately homes because of its thistle like appearance.
For me I just like the way the feathery foliage creates a halo effect in sun light.

Thanks everyone for your comments. Just for the record, apart from my name placement, post work was used to slightly darken the back ground to reduce the emphasis of the blue flowers that would otherwise distract.
