My name is James Lee. I am a self-taught 3D graphics artist living in Brighton, Michigan. Im a big fan of science fiction and cinema, finding design inspiration from movies like Star Wars and Blade Runner.
I use Rhinocerous (modelling), Poser 5 (figures), Cinema 4D (modelling and rendering), PhotoPaint 10 (post-production and texturing)
My current body of work focuses on an accidental heroine, a mouse named Claude, and an ensemble of alien characters caught up in unusual circumstances. BIO Proud to be featured on

It's been a good long time, but it's great to see you back. The quality is excellent as usual, and well worth the wait. From what I can tell, I think they're gonna blackmail the guy via use of the brainscan thing. Are these artworks of yours ever going to be put together in a graphic novel?

Excellent models, colours and composition! And of course a vote for this masterpiece!

Wonderful scene, my only crit being that its so big....I would have liked to see it at 800x600. So I've saved it to disc and will resize it myself.

This is fantastic. Been waiting patiently for the next... and it was well worth the wait. PS. I like it big... bigger the better and more detail.

Welcome back! We missed your extraordinary images and the ongoing narrative of your superb series! I have to agree with sacada, "the bigger, the better". How else to do justice to all those marvelous details.

Welcome back James! - And what a welcome return it is!! - Phenominal composition and narrative - the attention to detail is just breathtaking! - The plaster moulds on the walls, the ornamentation on the costumes.. and I LOVE those rifles. Absolutely first rate design and implementation! You're like a one man film studio!

Wow! Amazing as always. I sat for minutes trying to find a fault with it and the only thing I could find was that the ceiling could use a little more texture to fit in the scene, it feels a bit naked now. Aport from that, it is perfekt. Love the mirror, love Claudes rope, love the slug designs on the furniture, everything is perfekt!

Took me ages to find Claude this time, which is a testament to the detail and the focus of the main scene. Excellent as always, it's just a pity you don't post more. --- t.a.f.k.a.t - the artist formally known as tuttle

Oh...wow, in fact I had to come back a second time to find Claude LOL. Great to see you back! You are simply on of the very best. If I had to choose THE best on Rosity I think I would pick you.

You have quite a fan base here... maybe they should change the name of this site. James' Rederosity. I thought you had been gobbled up by Pixar or someone (heck, maybe you do work there and this is what you do with your spare time) flawless work as always - my only gripe would be MORE! keep 'em coming! can I just hang out with you and watch you work??? can I? huh?
TwoPynts

James, I would like to express my sincere gratitiude for the use of my painting in your work (My previous name was 'Turin_Turambar'). I will return the painting of 'Rose Court' to the gallery soon. It is no great secret that work work is my favourite within Renderosity, so your kindness in linking my own with yours is a honour I am not worthy of. Many regards, Turin Turambar

I've become an addict of your work. Visited your gallery and saw all you art. I want more. Kindly please tell me that you are making a book version of this. I'd certainly buy it. As for comments. Clearly you are a very creative and imaginative person. And as many others had mentioned, each of your scene series are very cinematic full of intricate detail. Not too mention full of action yet all unified with the same theme. You have a great sense of direction. I pray that when I return to Renderosity you have already posted twenty more new art work.

Thank you so much for putting this work up. I think it is great to see 'alien' technology - flowing forms and odd textures. Very mature spec-fic visualisation.
