Description

Hi everyone! I've been out of the Community for some days due to an annoying virus [not SARS, though! ;-)] and an even more annoying truckload of work, so I'm a bit behind with the Gallery browsing... But in the last two days I've found the time to do some Brycing, so the rendition of my Dream House continues. If you're interested, you can see the other "Interior Studies" in my gallery. This is (would be, ah!) the atrium, directly inspired by the "Teng House", a wonderful apartment in Singapore. The design is by Chan Soo Khian, maybe my favourite architect around. If one day I have the money, I'll do anything to have him design my home. You can see some of his wonderful works clicking here and here, or googling out a research: it's worth a look, believe me! So this image, other than the third installment of my Virtual Dream House, is also a tribute to Khian's work. To the original structure I added the water source sprouting in the pool, altered a bit the proportions and changed the materials to my taste. Some tech info: Rendered at 1100x880 with Premium FX (soft shadows and blurry reflections) at 36rpp; rendertime about 18 hours, plus some hours of postwork in PS7 to correct some artifacts and soften the edges a bit; the ligthing is provided by 225 ranged spotlights placed and set one by one to simulate the daylight flowing in from the large windows and other 15 spots to simulate the caustics of the pool. Everything is modelled by me except the three crystal goblets that are freestuff from our pal FWTempest (thanx a lot for the freebies!). Wood textures originally by Lemog and then tweaked a lot in Bryce mat editor, all other mats by me. The painting on the wall is "Meandering", a fractal by tresamie: thanx a lot, Viv, for the permission to use it. Whew. I wonder why I'm always so verbose when I introduce my pics, LOL. That's all. Thanx for stopping by and, as always, comments and/or criticism are more than welcome. Have a wonderful weekend and ... May Your Renders Be Short! :-) Stefano.

Excellent work as always and the lighting is exceptional. Tresamie's fractal on the wall is a very nice touch too. Her works are always a treat to view.

I am trying to remember which Roman geezer remarked " Before he dies, every man should build a house".. or words to that effect. I have to say that the staircase frightens me a little, at least I would have to sleep downstairs after a drinking session. I have to admit that I am not a style purist and would aspire to a Neo-Neo- Classical creation with modern surprises! Still! all said, neat pad.

Let us know when it's done, and we can all have a big party and trash the place hahaha. Seriously though, this is a super piece of design and a beautiful render.

Hey Stefano! This morning in the early, unfortunately i had no more time to look at your new picture. Now, some hours later, I stand in the row of the commenting already completely far below. Class for You, so many viewings and comments in so short time!!! I can only dream of it... :-))) However, the picture is also created again excellent! Brilliant modelling, excellent woodtextures and a stunning depth in the picture! Not a home for me, (i'm not so modern...), but a wonderful one from italy's architect No.1! :-)))

Syefano! I am a little bit late but... What I like in your works is the light. You are the master of light. Therefore your works are so "warmth". Your interiors are places where I would like to live and rest. Excellent + VOTE :) Mirek

Fantastic!! I find myself scrolling to all edges trying to see beyond what is here. It is so realistic feeling, although those stairs are something out of my nightmares. I'll take the pool since the couch is taken, :-D. Wow, I can't wait to see what is else is to come.

First, I agree with Woodhurst; the sculpture is a nice addition. Personally, I love those stairs! It gives the room a clean, spacial appearance. I think it's the scarce rails and water below that scares folks, But if your going to fall, at least it will be a soft landing and refreshing too! Overall I love this room the most and am curious about khians work.

Very nice render.... I'd probably have to agree with Calanthe above that the glasses look a bit small.... but then, I may be biased. ;) Great work

Very clean render Stefano.. I wouldn't want to live there myself though (unless I had someone to clean the place up for me on a daily base)
