Meadow, Stanislaus National Forest, near the Sonora Pass, about 9500 feet elevation, off Route 108, California.

This lone stump looks as if it has become as such due to natural means of decomposition over time as opposed to being cut down with a chain saw. Nice contrast, beautiful looking meadow way up there. -Peace :-)

OMG... this is so perfect.The mood of that wooden "natural column" merged in the rest of the dreamy scene is almost a tale in itself. the neatness of this picture is impressing me till no ending extent. Superbly made.

Bringing the beautiful, strong tree in the background into the composition gave that shot the atmosphere of time passing by all living things. Wonderful light on the stump, bringing out its texture and making it stand in the 'spotlight' of the scene, as though playing the leading part. Beautiful, moody shot :)
