Description

"Following the destruction of the border fortress and its defenders, Zrie pushed his army through the rocky forested ridgelines and across the shallows of the Misty River towards the Northsea plain. While things had been going well, he knew that the closer he got to Northsea, the more his army would be noticed, and the more resistance would stiffen." This is the fifth in the "Siege" series which loosely chronicles the invasion of Northsea by an undead army. Originally this pic wasn't going to be in the series, but I kind of got inspired by an idea of Commander_18's and by some of the awesome landscape images going on around here, most notably by Mel3d and bs58. A linking picture between what happened at the border fortress and the next stage of the story provided a good opportunity to have my first serious attempt at a landscape. 24 terrains, 600 skeletons, and 800 trees later and I've got to a point where I'm more or less happy with the result (or at least happy enough to post it). Please let me know what you think and thanks a lot for taking the time to view and for all your support.

This is unbelieveably excellent landscape work! 24 terrains...OK, but 600 skeltons and 800 trees!!! You must have one hell of a powerful computer to put all this together! anyway, this image is one of the best I have seen here, and gets my vote.

Way cool, Flak! The details are of course excellent, but what I like most in this picture is the point of view. Thumbs way up.
