Description
This is a work in progress. It still looks "plasticy" to me. But would like to see what peoples reactions are to it.

Wow, this is a very powerful image. The pose is excellent, so is everything else about the person. The shadow of the cross is excellent too. Perhaps what's bothering you is the floor in contrast to the walls and the fact that you can hardly see the wall in the back - it looks a bit like the image is "cut" and there's a black whole. Maybe you can change the textures on the walls and floor, and try to play with the lighting and camera angle for better results. But I still thinks this image rocks, it's very moody and intense. And an excellent idea, too!

I agree with the previous poster, this is a powerful image. Sharpening or emphasizing the background details isn't going to contribute anything to the theme and is therefore irrelevant, IMO. On the other hand, the level of brightness between the floor and background is stark and perhaps the gradual tapering of light intensity on the flooring going away from the subject would reduce some of the candlelight shock.
