Description

A Box Spindle chair and table I just completed. I am still in the process of tweaking (not totally satisfied with the leather) the actual textures, but so far I am rather pleased with how they look together. I have also modeled a matching sofa which I plan to post here soon. The carpet model and texture is my own. Comments? Please. ;) -Frank

Looking good. Maybe increase the tiling on the leather texture and on the wooden texture on the "top" of the chair.

Not bad at all Frank! I'll say what I think is wrong as you've asked... The bitmap on the carpet is verging on going a tad soft as are the various wood grains showing on the top of that chair-they seem to be of different scales and certainly the far left one is too large. I'd say the color overall is pretty fair although those flooring tiles are perhaps a bit too saturated in color, especially the yellow part. The leather texture seems about 30% too big on the cushion compared to the seat parts. Keep on keeping on!

Great look! Are you going to build the house around it?...something like a Frank Loyd Wright maybe?

This is very good; a bit more bump on the flooring, and wrinkle up that rug a bit on it's edges, and you'll have a true portfolio piece, IMO.

Very well done indeed.

Hey FF, this is great. A couple of observations: There are no hard edges in reality, even if an object is brand new. On the edges of your table and chair, try Filleting them. (in Cinema) This will give a more realistic edge to the objects. Don't Fillet them a lot, just a very little bit, to take away the unreal sharpness. The lighting is good. Your shadow behind the table should also be as intense overall (behind the chair legs and table legs). Try a higher rez image of the carpet, it does look a little low rez. Good start overall.

I agree with all the above. On a positive note, I think the lighting is great. This looks a bit like Mission style which I love very much. Nice work. -- 3d_e
