Description
This man is just a great character
study. Wonderful lines and shadows.
The sketch, referenced from a stock photo
was accomplished with 5H, H, HB pencils,
.3 and .5 mechanical Pencils.
The background, matting and frame (by Me),
soft focus, and drop shadow were done
through PSP8.
Thanks for stopping by!...Cheryl

I always loved this movie! Your illustration is excellent, and captures the essence of Bogart in the character role. Beautiful work!

I liked when he was pulling the boat in the water after the engine quit. Hollywood's fascination with an oral rule in gesture could not be more direct.

Wonderful work. I don't think I've ever seen the movie (at least not all of it), but parts of it and I know who Humphrey Bogart is. The sketching is very well done as always and portrays the man's essence completely. Also, another wonderful frame as well...and I like how the background is extended into the frame...

Oh my god! cheryl, this is your best rendition yet. the depth of shading on the face is at a very high quality, texture to show the rough unshaven face is a class in detail. As I have said, it is an honor to see an artist develop so fast and incredible right in front of our eyes. Excellent.
