Description

*Life is a synestesia of too many elements to be caged in a box.To be liveable in a limited space of virtuality. To pretend a partial life can have all flavours, colours, intensity of a complete one that can only take place in real world is like trying to say that it's better to use one or two senses instead of five, and fake that can have the same richness, or even more, of the real thing.Let's be brave. Let's live fully. All the rest is a comforting, but someway pathetic lie.Or fear. And to fear life, as one said once, is to fear living and the one who's fearing to live is already three quartes dead.* -------- Taken on July 2003, in Rieti, near Rome. Model, Barbara. Canon IXUS 400, no postwork. Contrasted and balanced with available light. ------------- It was hard to pick up a new image for the photography gallery this time, even more than usual.I wanted to post something descriptive of my state of mind after all thoughts I had after the departure of my Aunt. To have lost her was a pushing in dwelling newly and fully more into reality of life. Pain, sometimes, is useful to appreciate everything living is made of,and more than we use to realize. So this picture tells that.. Life outside is bright indeed. No sufference, no temporary grieving, no pity nor fear can prevent us from being part of the process of living. Outside there's always a day more for hope and happiness. And so a message of hope, is what this picture was meant to show you.Even if you will notice the horizon is a bit swhirling, which is indicative of the feeling of expectation and the vertigo our days can gift, or oppress us with. Virtual reality, yes, can be good. But the real life, is outside. I will be again in Rome tomorrow... the pictures out from it will mainly be uploaded in September though... as from 12th of August, I am on holidday, luckely pc-less and .. going to a week of sea too (unexpectedly.. ;)). But I wil try to come back with millions of nice pictures. Watch out also the forums for them though.. you know I mainly show pics there ;)As all beginners should do! Enjoy holidays as well if you are gonna have them, if you hadn't, or they are ended, well, tune in with the best vibe anyway for the incoming Fall :) Take care:)

I like it a lot. A lot. But to go against the grain here- which will probably get me run out of town per usual- perhaps a little cropping is in order. Unless that is against the rules here- of course. I'm thinking maybe the top right 2/3rds of the picture is very very powerful and probably all you need. Excellant work never the less. Quite the eye. :O)

Very expressive, Meli. The contrast between the light and dark really shows the difference between the outside life and the state of mind of the suffering individual. I'm very sorry for your loss. :(

Mi travia un po' per via della rotazione. Ma non c'male davvero.

Io la trovo espressiva. Mi attrae il mistero celato nell'ombra.

Adorabile ed espressiva, pur con i sottolineati limiti tecnici.

Nicely framed shot. No postwork! That's a sign of a very good eye when it comes to snapping the shots.
