I was looking for something totally different when this popped up. Maybe I've been in Asia too long but it looks like a Japanese painting style called sumi-e, and this is reminiscent of one technique where the ink is applied to wetted paper and spreads. Simple, but it works for me. UF3

Yes it needs a chop definitely. I have a real one which I will use on the print.
