Description
I am much much happier with this image. I impulsively posted the last image because I was mesmerized by the bigger flames. This is a much better quality shot. I will have to figure out how to make better night shots before the next forest fire rages near town. I am going to erase my last posting tomorrow so take a look while it is still there. Tell me if you agree. I had better get off of the computer and find out what is going on with the fire...

I now have Visions of You Non-Fussed...working away while all burns around You....so, yep...I would feel better if You give the Fire a wee check. IMHO, both fotos show reallity...sometimes a bit ofImperfection can make the Real...more Real :)

Nice work Matt..those night shots are difficult:) I like the lighting fading to silhouette of the burnt tree:)

I'm totally with Brian on the wee imperfection being a good thing sometimes and I really think you shouldn't delete the previous shot. They're both great and they should stay in your gallery together.

I'm not sure which one I prefer, in the previous one the colours are more strong, and I like better the sense of starry night... This one seems more clear and some details are more visible... I really like buth, even if for different reasons

I like both shots a lot... such dramatic & frightening views! Have you tried any noise reduction software/techniques on these? You might be able to finesse some of that grain away. :-)

Tedz brings up an excellent point here, but this is a fab shot...I feel for the many who have lost their homes this summer(hope you're safe)...defintely one to remember.

This really is a shame....fire is such a scary, destructive thing. Your image is very well done Matt. :~)

honestly, i like the first one better- darker contrast, more definition tween the smoke & sky & i like the soft texture of the foreground grass- so, to each his own... keep both :]

Poignant!

Perhaps the first one is more intense and this one more dramatic. Excellent both with powerful compo.

WOW! wow wow... Remember Yellow Stone Park.

Yikes man, not great image quality being a night shot, but I still give it two thumbs up for capturing the subject.
