This conveys a person (the artist?) pondering a photo of a much more "fleshed out" person. I think the person in the photo might also represent the artist. So what is this image saying? That's the mystery. I would guess it's saying something about the artist's perception of himself, and I would sense there's dissatisfaction in that perception, and a sadness as well, which is conveyed by the pose of the mannequin.
