Description
Mel Gibson has certainly been an
actor of many genres. We have been
enticed by his work in the "Mad Max"
series and the "Lethal Weapon" series.
Then he began to show us what he was
really made of in "Braveheart",
"Conspiracy Theory", Ransom", "The
Patriot" and "Hamlet", but these were not
the reasons I decided to sketch him. His
most recent project is a film on the
Last 12 Hours of Christ...a daunting
project to say the least. He has been going around the country to get funding
to back the project and this has not been easy because his adamant intention is to portray those
last 12 hours as close to Scripture as possible.
Being a Christian, this holds a great deal of
interest for me, as I, too, desire to see Christ
portrayed accurately. I hope you like the sketch. It was an honour for me to work on it.
The sketch, from a stock photo, was done with 5H, H, and HB pencils, along with .3 and .5 mechanical pencils. The postwork was done through PSP8 which includes the background achieved through a plugin entitled
"Rayflect-Four Seasons", Frame, matting, eyes and soft focus.
Thank you so much for stopping by. I appreciate
your comments very much!...Cheryl

I also enjoyed him in 'Signs' despite the lukewarm fanfare the movie generated. Braveheart will always be his magnus opus though. Great work as usual Cheryl!!

Cheryl, great job, on this as usual, but what really gets me on this one is his jacket, you are really doing a outstanding job on material. You ability to capture their likeness is equally amazing, execellent job all the way around........John

You have a different take on Mel. I would have seen a more "snotty" character. (Of course I learned that word from a ballerina.) If he wants to portray the last 12 hours of Christ he should shave his head (Golgotha).
