Description
I am trying to paint realistic looking dreadlocks.There seems to be something missing.Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Excellent background for the front subject. Have to agree with coolcatcom, on the eyes and lips, stunning. How do you do this thing with the hair, every picture you've done that I've seen with characters, the first thing I notice is the hair, so damm life like. Excellent job.

FYI...for the most part,I paint the hair using a jpeg of actual hair with the tool pattern stamp,from there I use the smudge tool with brushes I made for hair until I get a feel I am comphy with.

A wonderful portrait. As to your hair-and this is coming from an amateur. I think that with the size of the dreadlocks you are making the detail looks right. Maybe if you were doing something larger there might be more you could add but I think it looks good with the detail you have-it might look overdone if there were too much.
