I don't know about you folks but I didn't know a Praying Mantis had wings. Well, this one does!

Sure Bow, it's just a Nikon CoolPix 775 set on Macro. Oh, and I had to stand on a stool to get the shot, does that help? ;)

It is us guys that need to be cool toward praying mantis and black widow shots. Behind the excellent capture is bordello behavior unacceptable to our bravado. Realize that we have access to the enemies of this creature. I bet a paper wasp would like to chew that twisting abdomen right off.

Superb capture of the wings! Some species of mantids posess wings. I've taken some pictures of mantids I found in the backyard, but their wings were premature. I did find an adult with full grown wings; however, it flew away before I can capture his image. :-(
