I think I'm getting closer to what I wanted to accomplish. I've changed a few things, such as giving her a bit more room at the bottom to give the dress more of an impression of dripping off the page. I also darkened the color of the dress and toned down the highlights. I made the top part of her dress a bit more transparent so her back showed through some. When I brought the dress into Painter it was still a bit too red. I created a layer and then chose a color that was a burgundy with a bit more brown into it. I set the transparency to about 35 percent or so and painted over the dress. I erased any of the paint that went outside the dress. I think it worked out well as it preserved the highlights.
