Description

October 8th 1871 - Peshtigo, Wisconsin On this date, the deadliest firestorm in US history occurred. Over 2,200 people died or vanished as a literal tornado of fire, over 5 miles wide eradicated the town. Fireballs from the event were thrown up to 7 miles out into Lake Michigan, igniting some sailing ships and a lighthouse. Little help came for those few who survived, for most was sent to Chicago, which burned at the exact same time!

Thanks for bringing us the event and the image. I think you've capture the hell of it! My only suggestion would be to do some fake motion blur to the train to give it more sense of speed. Mak
