Description

Jack and Sally stand on the hill, overlooking the pumpkin patch. While not very original, I'll admit, I did try to add in elements not seen in any particular poster. Nightmare Before Christmas has always been one of my favorite movies of the season, so I thought this might be cool to do if nothing else for the practice that I've been out of lately. Comments welcome. Mostly Painted from scratch in Photoshop with some Vue Pro (finally got it to work) elements The moon was created in Photoshop for an alpha plane in Vue, it then served as the backdrop. The twisty hill was created in LW by me and then exported into Vue. The terrain and pumpkins were also brought into Vue as well (with a light source in each pumpkin to light the eyes). Then I took the render into Photoshop where i handpainted Jack and Sally from a reference poster and wound up painting new faces on the pumpkins to make each one different since I only had one pumpkin model that fit the bill. I also added the fence and the grass by hand, as well as the title. This image is based on the Disney movie poster for Nightmare Before Christmas and the characters/look herein are (C) Disney. Wonderful asembly of software methods to give an overall result with a theme. Not too silhouette. Balance of soft and hard edges. The couple focuses above the jumble of lights from the pumpkins.
