Name: Chalithra Triel Mallabane Xanithar Xorlarrin, known as Triel to her friends.

Titles: Duchess of Guust, Consul General of the Drovikallum at New Calladon, Witch Mother of the Coven of the Dark Sister.

Background: Born the half-elven daughter of the Drow Sorcerer Surtrik Mallabane and the Symballan Priestess Ellemere Ahvet Beni-Kamir, Triel was an outcast from both societies from the start. It was only her father's strength and standing as a magical instructor within the Church of Isis that allowed her a somewhat normal childhood. She grew up a rich girl under the blazing sun of the Symballan capitol city of New Phoenix, but there was always a secret darkness inside her. She would journey out into the desert at night to be alone with the stars and the two moons of Arrallon. It was there that she met and befriended a haggard old Hakima. The truth sayer carefully nurtured their relationship and on her thirty fifth birthday, barely puberty for a half-elf, she brought Triel into the confidence of the Coven of the Dark Sister.

Years later, after suffering through a political marriage which ended with her human husband's untimely death, she came upon the Silver Gryphon when she was sent by her father as an emissary to the Kingdom of Carellon. Outside the city of New Calladon, the Drovikallum had purchased a fortress to be used as a Consul for their future ambassador. In truth, it was a center for the Drovik Secret Police to launch spying missions into the last outpost of Lolth worshipping Drow on Arrallon, the Splinter Kingdom. She met and fell in love with one of those Drovik spies. Eventually, she married Amalicar Xorlarrin in a Witches' festival on the night of Mantari's Eve. But duty at last took him away from her. He fell prey to the hatred of Lolth. She did not see him again until the Silver Gryphon reached the capitol of the Splinter Kingdom and assaulted the fortress of House Belabra. There, a bloated and alien form snarled back at her from beyond spindly, arachnid legs. Amalicar had been turned into a Drider. Her mind reeled against the horror of it, and in a magical battle between the Avatar of Lolth and the Avatar of Isaheara, Amalicar was lost again.

After returning to the surface, Triel went her own way, returning to the desert of her birth and joining the forces of the rebellion against the Pharaoh. With great personal power, following the cleansing genocide of the Pharaoh and his secret police, she assumed the leadership of the Coven of the Dark Sister, and hand in hand with Sarafina Beni-Isis, Ibis Selegan, and Juriel al'Nubias, she became one of the new Pharaoh's trusted guardians, missionaries and generals. Unlike her good friend, Sarafina, she never accepted the Avatar of her Goddess, preferring to live in seclusion with her coven sisters and avoid the politics of running the Symballan Empire.
