Description

Created in Maya 4.5 and rendered with mental ray with Raytracing, Global Illumination and Final Gathering. The drawing was created with Maya Paint Effects. This one was created exclusively for an art show next year, but I thought I'd post it here as well. The original render is 5120 x 3840, so this is a low-res/low-quality-version. I'm editing this scene at the moment and will post the final version here soon. Thanks for viewing/commenting. ~Arvid P.S This scene was created to be rendered at hi-res, so therefore it's impossible to see all this details in this image. Please see the pic on this link too see parts from this image in original resolution: http://home.swipnet.se/~w-10972/wip/arvidforsberg_the_little_artist-zooms.jpg PLEASE see this URL for the final version: http://home.swipnet.se/~w-10972/wip/Arvidf-The_Little_Artist-(brio).jpg

Hey it's realy nice idea... but visualisation isn't i'm afraid...
Look, try to find texture for parquet with higher resolution... And put some noise on paper, it's to flat. And of course use area shadows, which are more realistic... I must say it would be perfect pic with some adjustments... Keep up the good work!

I checked out the hires samples, and the floor still doesn't look right to me. Looking at my own wood floor below me, I see less color saturation, and lots of little irregularities like scuffs and dents. A little dirt on the floor probably wouldn't hurt either (I suppose I should clean my own floor, eh? :-). Also, it looks as though the floor is "blurred" like DOF, but the train wheels that "touch" it are in perfect focus. Otherwise it's a very nice piece. The painted texture on the "wooden" (hires) trains looks great.

I totally agree with you, Radelat. :) As I wrote in the thread there, I'm enhancing the whole scene now. Pretty much everything has been edited and the floortexture has been replaced. It takes about 3 times longer to render now, so I will post the final picture here in about a week.
