Description

Yes we do sometimes get spectacular displays of the Aurora borealis "Northern lights" here in Rhode Island USA. This picture was taken in my backyard at 10:30 p.m. This is part two of earlier posting, the tree on the right was on the left in previous picture. Some of the recent coronal mass ejections have at hit Earth at 5,000,000 mph. Displays have been seen as far south as Texas. Check out my gallery to see pictures of recent sunspots. Have you ever seen the Northern lights? Why not leave a comment and share your experience with the rest of us?

No I've never seen the Northern (or in my case, Southern lights) I wish I could, this is so beautiful. The trees frame the red sky perfectly, excellent capture =)
