You will never stop to amaze me, extraordinary work. Reminds me diracty "The Name of the Rose" of Umberto Eco. Wonderful work! :::DES:::

Superb. Love the detail on the book. Really impressive work. The use of blur gives it real depth (Depth of field render post blended in photoshop?) Only comment is maybe the texture for the gown does not look quite detailed enough nearest to the 'camera'? Bit to mip-mapped.

Yep, this one's a winner! Great composition, great concept, great lighting... you get the idea :-)

Perfection in the highest form! Kudos!

I used standard Focus Lens from Max. I blurred some edges in PS. FLens produced strange distortion on egdes with high difference in distance from camera (ie. floor and study table)

Absolutely impressive!!!!., a great work, you have a great creativity, this work stands out for the meticulous of the details, the view of the camera has a very original angle, the textures have a reality that impresses me a lot, for my it is 10++++.

Amazingly well done - wonderful textures and forced focus - but one weird little sidenote. In this style of calligraphy/illumination the red/gilded initial capitals are actually put in BEFORE the text is scribed. You can't gild after the words are written - the gold leaf sticks to the ink (sad voice of experience)

I loke pictures like this, just wish I was this good.

nice. the book is unbelieveable good. the hand skin is perfect. the cloth is - ok but it could use some rework. the hair is not very realistic. maybe it should look a bit used - look at old men, the seldomly have soft, blurry hair. it sticks sometimes on the head. the rest is perfect.

Simply outstanding! I like the entire image but those hands are very, very good.

You are the best, unbelievably believable. Can I give it 11?

Love the detail in the hands, and the book. The candles would look cooler if they had some wax running down them and the hair looks as if it was glued to his head, also the skin textures in the head don't have the same "realism" as in the hands.Nice work!

One of my very favorite images in the Renderosity galleries. I come back to look at this one many times. Could you consider discussing with us how you did some of these effects; the texture of the cloth, the hair, the hands, the manuscript?
