Description

My entry for the challenge "Out of Vue" Okay... I know this is REALLY weird, but I felt like creating something different. Perhaps to weird for many peoples taste.. I only got 1 vote :) Anyway, I spent a long time playing with the lighting and mood in this one. I would appreciate your thoughts on it :) Should I make more of this kind?... it's fun and personally I like it, but what do you think? Thanks! :) - Thomas www.thomaskrahn.com

I usually try to guess ahead of time who did what in the challenge, but I must say I failed completely to guess that was yours :) I like the atmosphere, but I find the river is too bright for this kind of lighting. However, I like that the roots (I assume they are roots) are not well defined... they could be tentacles just as well :)

Well strange and very different from your usual pics. I rather like it. It's stark but lets the imagination run wild a little. If you enjoy making these kind of pictures then you carry on making them and don't mind anyone else.

Experimentation and diversity are great and don't be disheartened because of the comp. There were many terrific images and each voter can only select one. Your image is terrific and your attention to the light is evident. Keep up the excellent work in both your traditional and diversity. Very well done. :)

I think it is great all the more because it is different for you. Let's you expand and express other sides of your talent, Bravo!

Thomas, always do what you like. Its your expression and your freedom. More freedom shows in your artwork too. I love it because it is different. The misty graduation of light is cool. It has a clear story to the idea without actually knowing what it is. Do more sir, all in what you like. Forget those blasted votes.

You shoooould! I love weirdness and yours is of a very testfull kind! Anyway the artist have to do first things that he enjoys to do, then think about other people's preferenses... I love your work but it's more important that you love it! :-)

Yeah! Go for it Thomas. Abstract is a very thought provoking art. And sometimes it's good to go out of the usuals. :-) Looking forward to see the next one.

Although I enjoy viewing your other type of work I have to say that this is one of my favorite images of yours, there is obviously some thought gone into the composition and lighting, and for me it works. Well done.

Had I not seen your name on this I would have never guessed it was yours. I like this a lot. Diversity is wonderful. You are only limited by your imagination :)

It's an intriguing image and you should always follow your heart with your art. Make the images that you like, cause that's why you're doing it, right? You've captured a very mysterious mood in this scene. Excellent work. CC

Thomas, looking through the posts here it's true that this style doesn't look like yours. But you know, if you enjoyed making this image and learned something while doing it, then surely it was worth the effort. That's what we all like about Vue, you can do so many different things with it. As for your image, it's very cool! I like the tenticles, the lighting is excellent and it looks very exciting, definitely "Out of Vue". Well done!

Love images that are out of the ordinary, so please do more. The only thing a bit bothering to me are those hard black vinelike strings in the air, maybe you should soften them or throw a hair filter over them or something like that, but I don't know what you intended it to be ofcourse.

It's fantastic!! I like it a lot. The idea with the endless road and the light .. great! For me it's always refreshing to see something different, though i think it is hard to do with Vue .. or is it just my head lol. Finally: you should do what you like to do :)

I think you have to try this way of making images, because I think it is a big step, from making excellent 3dimages, to make excellent 3dimages with a story or message. Great Image!

If I have to be sincere, Thomas, I don't like it very this image, perhaps because I don't like the theme. But I appreciate the originality and the technique, that are always to your height however. Bravo!
