Oh Dear, this is incredibly beautiful... as cindy said, me too I'm not so sure about the grass in the background! The light and those flowers are awesome! A bit Monet-ish feel to it! huggles

I'm with Sunster. The out-of-focus grass draws your eye down to the lilies, and then does double-duty by providing in its reflection a backdrop to them. Without the grass, it's just "another flower photo" - well, not really, 'cause it's so well done anyway, but you know what I mean. I find it very tranquil and soothing, as well as beautiful.

Thanks for all the comments, folks!! I went back and forth myself about the background...decided that it did for me what it does for Acerebel so left the shot exactly as it was snapped...no postework at all. The lilies change color over the days they are in bloom,from a pale yellow white to a greener shade ...occasionally a bit of pink in th eveins of the petals shows just before they fade....and, of course, the light of the day affects the intensity we see as well....
