Description

This is the Southern wall of the Mediaeval castle of Vigoleno, a few miles southwest of my hometown. My region is a land of many castles, this is a small one but peculiar, because it is still in the shape as it was when it was build in the 12th century (while many other Mediaeval castles here have been widely restructured during the Renaissance age). This big Southern wall offers a powerful shelter from the North winds and allows typical Mediterranean vegetation to thrive, something not usual here as we have cold winters. So at the base of this wall you can see plenty of rosemary, olive trees, many other Mediterranean grasses, and even three beautiful Strawberry trees. On the top of the wall you can see a remarkable exemplar of Italian Cypress. As soon as I am able to decently stitch a panorama, I will also show you the main wall. It is too large to fit in my 28mm.field of view. Canon EOS 300D w/ kit lens. Thanks for viewing :-)

Excellent work, Orio. However, when I saw the thumbnail I thought it was going to be one of your great compositions from Vue d'esprit!
