Description

Often, I see Autumn pictures in the galleries, that could be much beautiful, but that are ruined because their authors pushed on the saturation to reinforce the colors. With the result that everything becomes saturated and the picture looses depth. I am of the opposite advice, I think that the most sophisticated sumptuousness of Autumn lies in the thousand shades, where the eye can wander from one half tone to another, like when breathing perfumes, or touching fine fabrics, or listening to the hundreds tones of an orchestra, or caressing different points on the skin of a woman. And where there is a vibrant color, you don't need to push it, because it's the simple proximity to half shades, that will make it shine. This picture sums up I think my philosophy of Autumn. I called it "Tapestry" because I wanted to loose the dimension of the planes, and conceived it as a decoration, as well as a tribute to the many subtle beauties that get lost because unnoticed. Canon EOS 300D - no postwork Thanks for viewing :-)

The colors of nature like the colors of our lives are smooth and rich if only we look deep enough. The outward world is only but a reflection of the inward insight of our soul. This is a most excellent photograph and philosophy well done.

Thanks everyone :-) About the muted tones: yes! One thing that gets easily unnoticed, is that the greens to take so many different shades in Autumn... Autums is not only reds and yellows! :-)
