Description

This is the reworked version. Thanks for all of your suggestions. I like this one a lot more than the first. So nice to be able to draw from the minds of others.....Thanks, Jennifer

Scene composition is correct, but lighting should be improved. AMBIENT LIGHT IS EVIL!!!! That's why its use should be limited to less than 15%. If you want obtain correct ligting simulating very cloudy day - use 6-10 suns of very dark blue gray color with difuse shadows. You may check detailed explanations about lighting in my tutorial (on my website - www.graphique3d.republika.pl) :-))) If you will have some questions don't hesitate to sent me a message :-)))

I don't know. Normally I turn down the ambient lighting too, but on a snow covered landscape I'm not so sure.

Great snow scene. Dave

In my experience, snow picks up light very easily. I see nothing wrong with the lighting on this one. Without the lighting you have set on this one, it would be rather dull. The snow looks great. If it looks good in your opinion, trust your own instincts first.

I really love those blue lanterns! I think your snow looks fine too. It does shine a bit at dusk and lighting it at night makes it sparkle. So this looke great! Wonderful job!

Can I come sit in your gazebo? It looks so tranquil and calm... I bet I could stay there for a long time.... I'll bring a blanket! :) Excellent scene. Those lanterns give it just enough "feeling" to enhance the image rather than looking out of place. Only thing I would quibble a bit is the edges of the snow/river interaction. They look too sharp. Other than that - Wonderful. :)
