Description
Finished! Thanks for everyone's advice. I decided to render the land object with radiosity so the bump map would appear in areas of shadow. I found a better POV and stuck the obelisks on the front. I also modified the sides slightly so it would fit in slightly better with the environment.
---
A forgotten civilisation built this tomb, unknown as to whether it was created, before, after or during the time of of egyptians since there are achitectural similarities (the obelisks and columns for example). The walls are decorated with writing and intricate geometric shapes. The writing is not hiegrloyphical and appears to contain about 20 characters. Since the langauage bears no relation to anything other, we are yet to establish what it means.
This is definately a tomb since excavations have found skeletons buried, but unembalmed. With only one entrance; accessible from the main front building, a passage leading under the ground leads to a central aisle of columns, in full view of the main tower. This ould be interepreted as symbolism for the passage into the afterlife.

Well, i think this is fantastic. I like the brightness of the scene and having a plain blue sky doesnt detract from the buildings. The crispness of the shadows makes it feel as though its damn hot there. The sand looks great as well. Great render, great image..Well done

Very nicely finished

Great picture. The only critique I could make is that since it is a "forgotten Civilization"...you might want to dirty it up. Erosion over a long period of time would wear down the crispness of the building. Otherwise very well done!

I stand corrected on my last comment about this being a "temple"... superb work on the "tomb". Top notch work! National Geographic could use your skills. :o)

Wow. That is really nice. It looks like it should be clean and new. The only question I have is how did you do the sand? It looks great. Only thing that seems odd is where the tomb meets the sand at the rear right of shot. Maybe its me but it seems to be floating above the surface. Maybe extending it down and showing the sand to slope away would be even more convincing???

Nice, reminds me a bit of one of the arenas in Unreal Tournament 2003.

age of mythology.

Nice image. Maybe a little bit of dust over the ground and steps would give to it more realism. Don't you think all the sun shadows have to point the same way, I know the cam lens is very opened but...
