Description

Modeled in Rhino, rendered in Penguin. Like the title says this is a superheavy tank called Maltesian (weighing around 200 tons) for the Battletech-Universe. Quite simple and plain design, but in this case this just has to be that way be because of the background story (besides this tank is supoosed to impress by it's firwpower rather then it's design). Learned a lot at this model, which is why I like in a special way :-) It's part of a Fan-Project (with official permission) which will release a Tech-Level 3 Readout at the end of the year. The pic shows more or less the presentation-design (to reduce print costs it has to be b&w/greyscale). For more infos visit: http://www.clanwatch.com THX for dropping by; C&C welcome...

Woah. That's cool. Not a fan of the toon renders I've seen from Penguin though. I'd have loved to have seen this with some grundge maps rendered with GI. Excellent model making.

THX for the praise - from modeling gods as you are this is even worth twice as normal to me - *sighing in delight g :-D @mughi: actually the definite armament is a secret until the publishing itself - I can only tell you that there are Rocketlaunchers mountet on the Secondary Turret and Balistic Weapon on the Primary Turret - but I think that was obvious anyway ;-) - sorry I can't give away more info so far... but stay tuned for further vehicle being published here

Sometimes the design needs to be simple, too many details can make an object seem very very cluttered, though it also depends on both their size and position. I notice you have even added treads to the band around the tank wheels itself, very nice job on that; I've seen a lot of tank models that neglect those treads :) I agree the cartoon render doesn't do it much justice, but you can still all the lines that outline the details you put in, so that still works out. Very nice job!
