Description

Her young ones led me to her. They had spunn their small webbs in some spruce plants, and at the center of the area...There was Mom! :-) They are called cross spiders, because of the pattern on the back of their bellys. Not shown very well in this picture though :-( Normaly I don't mind spiders that much...but these ones, with their bellys are just to gross. And they are not even that big...about an inch in body length. Thanks for viewing :-) All comments are appreciated :-)

As much as spiders freak me out, that is an awesome shot! It's pose is simply perfect, and the way you were able to grab the detail on it's body is also amazing. Here in Northern MI, we call those Pine Spiders, and they also come with orange/white bands or orange/black/white. Ours are a bit bigger than 1" though, and once got bit by one on the back....ouch!
