Description

Cinema 4D XL8 Fictional Heckler & Koch rifle. Design based on different G-11 prototypes and sketches. I repeat: The weapon is completely fictional. I was not sure if I should put this into weapons, still life, or realism. Since it is a weapon I decided to put it into weapons. :D

Brilliant!!! This is absolutely amazing design and modeling work. You've got the patent look of HK down perfectly, and I see that you've made some innovative use of technology from the P90. I am extremely hard pressed to nitpick, but with my back against the wall I guess it would be to turn down your reflection just a wee bit.

Watch your back on the way home... you might get kidnapped to design weapons for the DOD.

o_O Holy crap! Awesome design! You are not working for Heckler and Koch, are you? Because if you are I would consider that cheating and if you are not, you really should. Excellent work!

Reading Your comment under the image I can tell You are quite proud of Youself :) Well, You should be :) This is surely one of the best designs of yours I've ever seen here. I love those (resin?) cartriges and nasty looking weapon. One question: where the heck is Your store??? I'd surely put Vicki's hands on one of Your pieces :)

It is hard for me to comment on a weapon with no combat record unless I have some idea of it's mission and specs.

Interesting. Seriusly. The idea of caseless ammo always fascinated me. Here's a nice ergonomic-looking weapon. There's one tech. issue here though: the open-type mag will collect dirt and humidity. Remember that WWII French machine gun that everybody hated? :-) I wonder if this weapon's design would improve from addition of a flash suppressor? And how do you put it apart? There might me several extra screws and locks, but I am probably just old-fasioned :-). But this is a nice rendering! Light and textures are really something!

Thanks for the comment! The magazine is in fact NOT open. You are absolutely right that it would be incredibly stupid to willingly collect dirt. It is just not really visible that the cut in the magazine is in fact windowed with transparent plastic. To take the gun apart, the bolts are removed and the buttstockcover is removed. Then the whole mechanism can be pulled out of the shaft. A flash suppressor would not work, because a caseless weapon like this has a moving barrel that goes backwards INTO the casing while firing, absorbing recoil with a hydraulic shock absorber. A flash suppressor would be of no use a the barrel tube itself functions as one. :)
