Great job. I really like how you've got the abdomen muscles decreasing into the chest of the horse-part. Well done.

The character looks good, though the pose seems a bit strange due to the posing of the human part. I kind think it would be better if the body "leaned" backwards a bit. Also, the background looks okay, but where's the centaur gonna plant his front 2 feet? Kinda looks like he's gonna fall of the rock.

• • • SPEACHLESS !! - - - First you have to tell me how you keep nailing my upper body features and have never met nor seen me :) Ditto to what Ethesis said as well as what Tanialmeida said. Much easier to just agree with the comments rather than try and conjure up a fresh way to say WOW !!! The upper torso would lean back as the hooves landed on the sloping ledge, like all the other ledges in the painting. And I swear if you stop the neck any sooner, and the upper body any sooner the physical properties would be off balance. And the hair and mane mixture is perfect. So much for speechless huh ? Well done Uwe Well done ..

From an anatomical and pose standpoint, this is excellent. The man/centaur transition is beautifully done and the angle of upper body alignment is also correct. When horses rear, the head and upper legs (here represented by arms) come forward otherwise they fall over backwards. Great job translating two realistic elements into an accurate fantasy piece.
