Nate the Wonderbot is the only unique robot in the entire world. He accidentially stumbled into an atomic replicator one day, and when he came out, there were two of him, exactly identical, down to the last proton.
He realized that with his new powers, life would be lovely. Then he remembered. He had no powers, just another one of himself. So he decided, for lack of anything better to do, to take up baseball.
As you can tell, I've gone for a slightly more "surreal" look here. I mean, cartoony. He's diving for the ball, if you couldn't tell.
