Description

That dog never seems to move from that spot Comments and suggestions welcome and Happy New Year to all. Thank ye kindly for looking lads and lasses! VuePro/Poser/Painter/Photoshop This piece was done as an experiment in some elements that I felt I needed practice in. Due to the posing, it is one of the most complicated scenes I've done. The dungeon was modelled in VuePro with Booleans. The fire effect in the background was painted in Painter and then used as an alpha plane in back of the window. The three pirates and the original dog were posed in Poser individually and I have new respect for those that do multiple people in a scene. I say the original dog because the texture for some reason wouldn't appear correct on the dog, so I wound up painting over the original dog with my own texturing cause he looked like a statue originally. Other elements, such as hair, some of the clothes, etc, were painted in painter also. Cleanup and color correction was done in Photoshop. Very nicely done, sir. Unfortunately, all I have to go on for reference is the recent movie, never been near the theme park. But I must say that you've done a tremendous job on the lighting, textures and most specially your composition. A bit more dirt here and there wouldn't hurt though. :o)

I think you've made some excellent decision on when to use painterly effect to illuminate a character and when a more realistic effect is needed to get the composition to integrate.

Great job, and a very cute scene! Isn't it amazing the amount of pain we go through as artists! Often the simplest looking scene has hours and hours of torment and hard work behind it. And yes, posing multiple characters can be a real b*tch! Well done.

Bravo my friend its great to see you excersising your considerable talents in new creative ventures! I know how much time it takes to render such scenes and would suggest that having done so its tempting not to do much postwork afterwards!! A superb piece nevertheless I would have a go at the floor with more dust and such in the foreground I LOOK FORWARD TO MORE!!

Thanks Moe and danob. The ground did look a little too clean for the scene. I tried to give it a more dirty look...

Now thats an ebot that got me itchin!Great to see more from you mate,I watched this last week and thought of your theme, but on earth surley they cant be serious as to have the dog around with the keys!Well perhaps it was trained well as none of those ruthless pirates managed to get them!Your art work is like a story again, the lighting in your painting and colours are exceptional by standard! You never let us down:-) byeeeeeeeeee calum"v"

This image is very special for me because is important a illustration with a story, something that make u think about the scene, like a screenshot from a movie. Congratulations and thanks for your comment!!
