Description

I've created a few images during christmas, but unfortunately I can't post them yet, because of some complications! :| Yesterday though, I found the time for making this one. Quebec is inspired by a photography in the book Earth (p. 158 if anyone's interested :), I bought a few days ago. The photo is from the Appalachian range, and it's probably the largest forest I've made to date! :) I had some troubles with the fog and lighting but the rest came together smoothly... www.thomaskrahn.com I hope you like it! Thanks for viewing :) Thomas

You captured it well. I live in the appalachian range of mountains. You image reminds me of Cumberland Gap the pass into Kentucky that Daniel Boone found. Excellent work. :o)

It's very beautiful, and the lighting and fog make the forest look very natural - if i didn't know better, i'd say i were looking at a photo :)

Quite different than your usual work. I like the mood of this picture, but somehow it looks a bit flat to me. Maybe because by using the alpha planes it looks like four wall of trees. Maybe use some single trees to close the gap between them. Maybe some variation in the thickness of the fog can make it even more interesting. I know you as great artist and that is just my personal opinion. So no offense. All in all it is a great idea and you certainly know how to work with fog. It really inspires me.

I have to agree partially with Tintifax - the trees appear a bit like walls. Nevertheless a very nice setting, and a particular nice job with the fog.

Beautifully done and so realistic. I was out photographing birds against a darker sky like the one in your scene and it looked just like this. Excellent work as always...

I think the fog came out great, Thomas, and I know from experience that fog can flatten out a landscape. Lovely mood piece.

Beatiful, although it does seem a little layered (to my eyes, at least). New style, hmm? (Her du havde en god juleferie - det lyder san!)

Wonderful job, Thomas! I agree with the idea about a few different trees. The fog is awesome. I always have such a terrible time with fog going where I want it ;} My vote
