A business programmer/analyst by trade, with a passion for the arts. Well over a decade of mainframe experience, but I love the "designability" & power of the web and PCs and am continuously trying to learn new skills and improve. I have started a small freelance business at http://EbelTech.com and have created several websites for various organizations.
Artistic Endevours
Recently took a community art course - was happier with my work than I expected I would be! I've finally got a website - we'll see how long it stays up (see my "sponsor" link under gallery pictures or go to www.freewebs.com/nogenius A friend of mine has told me "the bar has been raised" on my work, I can't claim to be a rank beginner any more and he expects the quality to keep improving... thanks for the push, Paul!
Art as such... well, I won county fair awards back in my school days for photography and artwork, and like to think I haven't entirely lost my touch.
I've gradually learned 3d tools as well such as Blender, Bryce, Poser, Terragen and others.
Thanks go out to those that provide free tools such as Blender (www.blender.org ) and Terragen, and those British magazines that give us the FULL retail versions of older but still popular programs like Bryce and Poser (even if they do cost $20+ for a mag here). THANKS!! (New bad trend = Older versions that are crippled. Ugg!)
Also thanks to all those other free tools and services people have put on the 'net, so we can all learn, even if we're not making them or us much money with it... yet!

Even though this sketch is lacking final touches, it displays how well you've progressed. Prospective is a difficult thing to attain, even I have issues with it still. In this area, I'd say you're light years ahead, making my painstakingly finished pieces look simple in comparison. Good job.

Thanks for the kind words. I know what you mean about finishing touches, I have trouble with those, as I saw at my class last night - heh, it helps to have a "finished" photo to start with though. Will continue working on it. I was happy to be realize that I have made progress over the last 3 months, even at couple of hours a week. Enough, at least, to post some sketches. You should see the ones I haven't posted! :-) Having a teacher to point out the problems before they completely ruin a piece helps - even if the "help" given means practically starting over. Sigh.

Sweet! You have some seriously nice forshortening and perspective going in this piece. The pose and anatomy of it are exceuted nicely... the only thing I can think to work on would be the face- but those are really hard to do sometimes, trust me I know. You have a very nice drawing here! I expect to see some more soon! ^_^ Heather
